[Another door opens and closes and her voice takes on a slight echo from the change from apartment to hallway.]

It's not an everyday occurrence, but it happens too often for my liking.

I've been here for little over a month.

No, she came with the shelter.

I got the pooch because I was alone and it helped with the ticking.

[It didn't get rid of it completely, but at least she could hear herself think. Another ding, another door, and the sounds of the City at night fill in as background noise.]

It's... okay. It's not home, but it's not always Hell either.

That's what I like to hear. I say the same thing about LA, except that's home too.
