Good. Or else I'll have to really pull out all the stops to make this a good trip.

[Who says he won't anyway?]

Kinda near the neighborhood we used to live. We better lock the doors just in case.

[Rolling along in the coupe on a cool spring night, it's begging for a smoke. The radio is playing low.]

Who says you won't anyway? You got a lotta temptation on your hands. [Puff puff, smoke ring making Newendyke. Hearing that evokes another laugh from the kid.]

Either she's in a bad way or she's found a working man who knows what's going on under her hood.

Now that you mention it, I do. I found a good looking man who decided to hitch a ride. [That hand creeps up a few inches and stays there to savor the ground covered. If he wanted to,he could stretch his fingers to rub at the fly of his pants. They got a whole stake out to sit through, why rush?]

We also got a view of the window to her hallway. Not the apartment. So I figure, we watch her go in. We watch the door awhile.

[That sound easy enough to Freddy? Otherwise well, fuck. Poor kid could sleep in the back seat if he truly wanted to. They got music at least. What's this? Is Prince coming on?]

[One wonders if bringing the kid along was such a good idea after all. At least good for Mamba's business. Relaxing a little again he taps ash out a window crack.]

Sounds simple enough, boss, I can do that.

[Hell he did similar stints on the job back home, it'll be like sitting in a squad car all over again, except the car is a fucking beauty and his partner is fucking Lawrence Dimick.]

[The old man's admitted to himself that it isn't the most wise of ideas but he has done more stupid deeds. Besides, the pleasure and amusement out weighs the threat--which again he assures himself is not great.]

[And lo! Here they are at the stakeout. The beauty of a car rolls to a parking space.]

[A shrug goes here and then it's their stop. Freddy puts his cigarette out on the curb if an ashtray isn't available but in both cases he's still as discrete as ever. Sealed up inside the American Classic again, he looks at Larry. Almost like he's just staring at the old man, which he is.]

Oh I know it.

[Sweet ride that it is the break goes on and the engine turns off simple as pie. Beautiful piece of machinery... honestly, how could he not share? The music stays on, except he turns it down low. Prince is singing about a kiss. He feels those eyes on him now. The lady of the evening isn't in. They've got a window of time.]

[He remarks over that smooth demeanor Lawrence Dimick seems to exude. Freddy's leaning over in his seat towards Larry...ready to test the space in the back.]

I figure it's a plus.

[It's hard not to smile as wide has he does. His arm migrates from Freddy's lap to slide over the back of the seat they share. There's more shade on his side, prime location with maximum shadows.]

Though you should know I just want your extra time...

[He too can lean on in, now that he's not driving he can use that hand as needed. Oh yeah they'll get to the backseat.]

[The response shouldn't come as a surprise at all, should it? The kid's leaning further into the shadows.]

[Cue the guitar riff and instead of saying the word Freddy reaches over to pull Larry's face into a firm kiss.]

[Just what he was waiting for. Those kisses are addicting, once he's had one he wants so much more. His hand goes right between his thighs because they can in the dark in this car. It's a time machine back to when this was the only way he would get anywhere with a girl....in more ways than once.

And in spite of this he's got one eye on the well lit apartment entry way across the street.]

[Likewise Freddy's taken back to a time when he envied boys with nice cars, boys with nice cars who would take nice (or not so nice) girls in them. Back then he believed he wanted to be that too cool dude because believing he could never be that cool dude was a lot easier than believing he could never be with that cool dude. But look at Freddy Newendyke now. He spreads his knees as much as he can in the seat while his tongue probes Larry's mouth.]

[Nothing like that mouth and those lips. He welcomes that tongue gladly.

Look at Freddy Newendyke now indeed. It's easy to super impose him into older memories. They're at the drive-in planning to run the bases as far as they dare with another car right there. Except there's no movie outside, only the street and the apartment. Still nothin' out there.

And believe it, Dimick is checking even while allowing himself to be subjected to that tongue as frequently as he remembers.]

[Crazy to believe it'll be a year in the summer. Even crazier to believe how far they've come from complete strangers. It still is a blow to the mind. Now they've got an apartment, and a bird. A noisy bird that is worth escaping from. Though to be honest, it isn't all about the bird. He wants some time with the kid outside of the apartment fresh with clone business. [Could be both which just makes it an even more explosive situation. Mind, not that Freddy is complaining, he's just concerned for Larry's accountability and integrity as a man in Mamba's confidence. Nevermind that the boss is a crook because if there's one thing he's always admired about Larry it's his code of honor, even among thieves.]

[Maybe that's what makes it so easy to just concede to Larry's arrangement; his honor, integrity, and the absolute trust he has in his partner.] Is working with you always this fun?

[How reliable can it be for a one night stakeout? Though this would be very contradictory to Larry regarding Freddy and his therapist friend. Fuck let's not think of him right now... He tilts his head against the kids.]

Lucky would say so except our fun isn't in the same way.

We take turns workin' over the crowd, taking turns being the hard ass and the nice guy. [Some altered version of good cop, bad cop.] Or we shoot the shit. [Up the street there's a lady turning up her collar to the light wind. She's a blonde, kinda got a Barbie doll of old look to her except she's not nearly as tall or as busty. No hurry to her walk because she's finishing her cigarette.]

[He takes a nip of the kid's ear as if to remind him how soon.]

[Maybe no other cop Larry likes period but that's besides the point. He smirks between another kiss for that guilty remark because it sure does sound familiar. What would Freddy do without one Lawrence Dimick? Just when he's about to go for another kiss though the mark shows up. Green eyes glance aside to the lovely lady. That is quaint elegance he wasn't expecting.]

[No fucking way. Oh that nip is nice. Right. He's gonna take him in a way so they can both wait and see if Barbie decides to suck on another cigarette or a man's pipe.]
