I must admit, for all its faults... in general, everyone does tend to help out recent arrivals. Perhaps because everyone remembers stumbling in themselves.

I arrived in the middle of a curse involving bad pickup lines, actually. The affected couldn't speak normally, it made explaining the situation... difficult.

I've heard a little here and there about curses but pick up lines? That's normal for a lot of places.

The effects aren't always unusual, but the compulsion is. People couldn't help themselves, whether or not they found others attractive, whether or not they'd typically be so forward. It was harmless but more than a little confusing.

I don't think that particular curse has recurred City-wide, though... Well, once a month, there's a weekend where a number of different curses affect different people unpredictably. I've seen it crop up then.

Curses... Sorry this is kind of a lot to have sinking in all at once.

It does all sound fairly unbelievable. There's no real way to prepare for it, you really do need to experience some of the stranger ones to get a feel for what the City can do.
