It's alright, I like it. And it's not because it's Tony Stark.

[He uses his cigarette to point at Eames before putting it out. Okay tacos and tamales it is.]

How're things at your house?

[signatures]

[ Uh huh. Whatever you say, Mister O. ]

It's all right. The usual sort of affairs. [ At least Cobb isn't so sick any longer. ]

[With a reaction like that he's not sure if Eames wants to even talk about Ariadne and George. He does know the guy's been in their place, right? Orange thinks so.]

Not gettin' any better?

[signatures]

It's a bit strange. [ It's all that he's in real interest of admitting - he didn't call Orange out for lunch to go into personal matters. It's true, though, now that he's returned and no longer really puts merit in the idea of this setting as a dream, that it puts Orange in a different light, too.

Easier to get on with, no longer having to write someone off. ]

[If Eames puts Orange in a different light now it may or may not come as a surprise when he kind of just looks at the guy then moves his head in a way characteristic of someone accustomed to using body language. In other words he expects the guy to go into it more because shit you don't say it's strange then leave it at that.]

And?

And what? [ Eames scoffs into his cola, though after he swallows looks at Orange a bit more fully. He's debating the need to get into it in the first place; he's been willing to take on Orange's honesty (more-or-less) but the idea of it going both ways is another unfamiliarity.

Still. It's an aggravating situation. ]

It's a bit complicated.

I'll bet.

[Freddy quips because he knows a thing or two about the situation. He just doesn't know the situation that complicates Eames' life isn't the situation he's thinking about.]

How much? [ Eames shoots back, wry as he dips one of the chips into the salsa, tossing it in its entirety into his mouth. ]

I'll bet you lunch.

[He points down at the table, tapping it with a finger tip.]

I already told you it was complicated; there's nothing to actually wager.

[ His lips quirk, the crooked snag of his tooth slipping past. ]

You're pussying out.

[Casual observation.]

[signatures]

Only stating the facts.

Besides, it's personal.

How the hell's it personal for you?

[Brow quirking.]

[signatures]

Why wouldn't it be bloody personal? [ He frowns sharply. ] It's a relationship.

[orangetoughguy]

[......Freddy leans in a little as if doing so will keep the conversation just between the two of them.]

On the rocks?

[He's taking a gamble that maybe they aren't talking about the same thing after all.]

I don't know.

[ It's is an incredibly difficult admission, not knowing the state of people, even if one of them is himself. ]

I suppose it's been mended well enough for now, but. It all seems to come to uncertainty with the slightest disturbance.

What happened?

[He can tell Eames is having difficulty admitting it but that doesn't stop Freddy from pursuing it because sometimes it's better not to have to face something alone. It's hardest when the person you consider to be your closest company is part of the trouble.]

[ Which is, really, the only catalyst he can think of. ]

[Not about Ariadne and her ginger at all.]

You've been back a little while now.

[He saw them at the gala. He saw Arthur on the piano.]

What the fuck did you do, leave unfinished business?

[Finally, food. He's crunching into a taco then talking with his mouth semi-full.]

You try candy and flowers yet?

[signatures]

No, actually. Not as far as I know.

[ He goes for some beans first. ]

I've no intention to.

[orangetoughguy]

[He's putting a little taco meat on his tamale now because he can.]

You gotta give me a little more to work with here. [He's a cawp, remember?!]

I'm sure during your stay here you once considered this place to be a figment of your imagination?

[orangetoughguy]

Sure, here and there I'm thinkin' what if it's all a fuckin' dream, man? Then I put a hand right here.

[He places his palm over where he carries a bullet scar to the belly.]

And I tell myself no fuckin' way cause this really happened.

[It's a lot better than telling Eames Orange knows this place is real somehow because he came here with White and he couldn't make White up.]
