[Have directions to some street corner somewhere in the city center, kind of close to his place but Raymond doesn't need to know that part.]

[It's close enough that Raymond makes it in less than five, though the car he's driving certainly helps with that time. He pulls up to the street corner, considers flicking the sirens on for a second to catch Orange's attention, but decides against it and settles for leaning out the window instead.]

Waiting long?

[Da fuq. Freddy stares at the vehicle and its driver leaning out the window like some kind of cruising homo. It's such a nice car.]

No. Where'd you steal that.

[Yes the only solution is Raymond stole it cause that's how he drives it or something.]

[Why, Freddy. If he didn't like you then he might be insulted.]

I made a trade. Get in.

[As if it were the most obvious thing ever. He's not exactly giving Orange a choice, either, reaching across the seat to pop open the passenger-side door.]

[A trade. How much did the fucking vehicle cost? Freddy's always been wary of trades, more than he is wary of the car. He climbs in without argument.]

They fill up the tank for you too?

[These things are gas guzzlers as far as he knows. Maybe not so much in the future.]

They weren't that generous.

[Not that Raymond seems to mind. Being at the wheel of his own squad car puts him at ease like nothing else in this city ever has, and it probably shows as he pulls away from the curb and gets going.]

Handles just like it did back home...so far. [He glances over to Orange.] You mind checking it out for me?

[Heh of course they weren't. He's not going to ask what Raymond paid for it, the prices around here run the gamut from memories to your senses and powers or whatever the fuck those bastards crave. It doesn't stop his curiosity though, he might try sneaking a glance at the guy's arm later. Wait what.]

Me? How?

[Sorry for his dumb blonde moment. He's too busy noting the light bar. Shit if only his agency had such nice cars, maybe the crooks would respect them for their sweet ride.]

[Raymond just quirks an eyebrow at him.]

You said you were a mechanic. And I said you'd be the first one I call. So here we are.

[Get with the times, Freddy. Raymond has a spot in mind to pull off and let him take a look, but they're not there just yet. For now he's going to take his time and cruise for a bit.]

Oh. Yeah, sure.

[He nods three times. Duh, Newendyke, you're a cop who poses as a criminal who poses as a mechanic. Of course he really does have mechanic skills which works in his favor.]

You take it around the island yet?

Not all of it. [He hasn't had it quite that long. Besides, calling Orange really had been rather high on his priority list after making the trade.]

Is there anyplace I should check out in particular?

I like the westcoast. [On this island, not California, even though California's would definitely apply.] Work your way counter clockwise to the south. It's a nice drive.

[Freddy's been down that route with Larry a dozen times. Of course this is no date, this is to give Raymond's vehicle some stretching room.]

All right.

[Some other time, or maybe in a short while. For now, though, Raymond is pulling into a vacant lot and bringing the car to a stop.

After he kills the engine, he turns his head just enough to look over at Orange.]
