[More shuffling...and maybe the crinkling of a wrapper...then:]

"You seriously watched Happy Days?"

I think it is a standard in television. All that pressure to make a hit and adapt to the audience's expectations.

Not always. Plenty of shows manage a fluid continuity and rich, diverse characters. But, yeah, some limp along.

I think that the fact that it's still on the air late at night says something about the rest of the shows quality.

[Somehow in a way that the phone was not only called but answered without their doing he means. Yes, Larry is fully aware that makes no sense, but hey. SUN IN THE WRONG FUCKING PLACE.]

[The sudden weight in Larry's gut cannot be the burger alone. He nods though. They can trust each other. Worse case scenario, they've got guns. Larry's got the bullets but hey, guns.

And there is a silent kudos given to the no first names in public deal.]

[You need to shut the fuck up about this ammunition thing...or Freddy might have to beg. Please don't make him beg. Anyway there's a brief look around before being the charmer he is he somehow manages to get a colored pencil from that little girl over there. He writes down the names of places and draws a line through each of them.

The last one he circles and adds "??" to it. That's when he gives Larry a look.]

[Cigarette time. No questions there. He looks at the paper takes a first big puff of nicotine as though it'll help it make any more sense.

He then puts up one hand for a I don't fucking know, he then grabs for the pencil to scrawl Baja Mexico with it's own "??" that's the only reason why this many people would be speaking English. A resort? Fuck, none of this fucking makes sense.

Larry blows smoke to the outside of the booth. Considerate guy that he is.]

[There's a gesture to the entire diner they're in before he writes:

- needs Mexicans

Next to the Baja Mexico of course.]

[Fine, fine. Larry crosses out Mexico several times. Below he writes CANADA. That would explain all of the English speaking. And so far there haven't been any French people but it's a side note for parts of Canada so...could be? Right?

Why didn't he think Canada before?]

[Freddy pulls out a half eaten strip of bacon from his nearly finished burger. The look he gives Larry is: "Does that look Canadian to you?"

True facts though, Freddy's never been to Canada.]

[Larry just shakes his head. When they can talk freely he'll explain that Canadian bacon is called back bacon, and bacon is something completely different.

And fuck if a burger is an indicator of anywhere you are when it's only called a burger.

He drops the colored pencil and crosses his arms, smoking a few moments. Listening. Whoever the clown is on the other line, he doesn't know how annoying he is. That could get a person killed these days. Not by Larry though. He's no hot head. And he takes time to remind himself. Getting fucking worked up when that's the last thing that needs to be done. He's not fucking Blonde. No way.

Taking up the pencil again he leans forward to write dial for an operator?]

[Speaking of the bacon, he totally shoves it into his mouth while listening. Then he draws an arrow from 'operator' to 'Eden' whose information matches Xander's. The advantage with Eden being if she's full of shit, Freddy knows where they can confront her.]

[Alright, a shred of logic. Finally.

He taps ash onto one of the empty places for lack of an ashtray. Shit, this will be a mess to clean up. And they'll have to eat and run. No tip today, waitress. It'd make Larry feel like a heel if he didn't think he was dealing with a huge conspiracy.

Since Freddy is still on the line he listens intently.]

[THE BIG REVEAL. Freddy sort of quirks a brow at the phone before he reaches into his pocket to spill his small collection of colorful coins on the table. On the paper which is quickly losing writing space--oh screw it. He points at the coins and mouths to Larry the word: "Money."]
